Improving communication is a priority for St James Church in Pangbourne, Berkshire. For the last few months they have been testing the prototype of the new Modular Display which raises the church profile by promoting a feeling of involvement and activity.
The new display welcomes visitors, informs the congregation and directs locals to the various community activities. It has been designed specifically for churches and is a low cost, versatile sign with interchangeable messages.
St James Church has a monthly pattern of services with varying start times and types of worship 'it is essential to keep parishioners and visitors informed, and this sign does just that. It really helps to raise awareness in the community not only of our worship, but of events, concerts, our playgroup and the Parish office.'
The sign is easy to use and messages are altered simply and quickly. Like any modern popular facility St James needs to advertise what it offers - and now visitors and the local community can see exactly when the church is open and what's going on. The sign is robust and clear for roadside display and can be taken indoors overnight. It also looks attractive, welcomes genuine visitors and helps discourage crime.
Organising new church signs can be a complicated, slow and expensive business because of planning rules, design issues and agreeing content which is likely to change. Technically, as a 'temporary' sign the Modular Display avoids local authority and diocesan requirements for permissions and the cost of installation. Also, the modular design offers the user the flexibility of adding new messages as needs require.

We recommend a maximum of 15 characters including word spaces. Don't forget the A-board has two sides, each with 4 slides so at any one time you can display up to 8 full width slides.
